Two classical traditions, one home

Vastu and Feng Shui, read together

The Vastu Purusha mandala and the Bagua have guided homes in India and China for centuries. Here both readings sit on one plan, so you see where the two traditions agree, where they pull apart, and one harmonised way to arrange your home.

How the two traditions meet

Vastu Shastra reads a home through the Vastu Purusha mandala: 45 devtas seated across 16 zones, each direction ruled by a guardian and an element.

Feng Shui reads the same home through the Bagua and the Lo Shu square, then turns personal with your Kua number and the stars that move through the house each year.

Where both point the same way, that zone is strong. Where they differ, we suggest one placement that honours both and remedies from each tradition.

Questions people ask

Can Vastu and Feng Shui be followed together?

Yes. Both read directions and the five elements; they agree on much, such as a calm centre and a welcoming entrance, and where they differ one placement can respect both.

How is my Kua number found?

From your year of birth in the Chinese solar calendar, which turns near 4 February, and your gender. It places you in the East or West group.

What are the Flying Stars of 2026?

In 2026 the 1 star sits at the centre and the 5 yellow star rests in the south, so the south is kept quiet this year.

Which tradition leads when they disagree?

For rooms fixed in the plan, such as the kitchen and the puja room, Vastu leads. For personal directions, such as the bed head and the desk, your Kua directions carry more weight.
